Last.fm Bought by CBS

Music site Last.fm bought by CBS. I’m a big fan of Last.fm, and I most sincerely hope that it’s not ruined by this deal. I shall reserve judgement until things have had a chance to settle down there.

Team Orders

McLaren deny anti-Hamilton bias. I must admit that I felt a little aggrieved on behalf of Lewis Hamilton immediately after the race, but now that I’ve had a chance to think about it I find myself in agreement with Ron Dennis. The drivers are, first and foremost, part of the team and the team has to come first.

Monaco is unlike the other places where the drivers compete and requires a unique approach. There’s no point in losing one or both of your cars from the race unnecessarily. As things stand now, both Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton have a good crack at the title and there are plenty of races to come. It should be interesting.

Monaco F1 GP

I have the flat to myself. I have snacks. I have beer. It’s the Monaco F1 Grand Prix today. I watched the qualifying yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it, and to say that I’m really looking forward to the main event would be an understatement.

I’d really like Lewis Hamilton to finish with a place on the podium again today but I’m prepared for disappointment. He’s shown that he’s a good driver and that he can mix it with the best of them but nobody can expect to finish in the top three every single time. We know he handles success extremely well but that’s only part of racing. It could actually be interesting to see how well he handles a setback. If he can fail and bounce right back it’ll prove that he really has what it takes to be a champion. We shall see.

Day Off

I’m home from work and looking forward to a day off tomorrow. Thursday is the new Friday, baby!

I shall be taking the train into the wilds of Surrey for the day, so wish me luck. Very south of the river is a dodgy place to venture into. Here be dragons.

Morning Coffee

We’re out of tea at work so I’m having coffee instead. I rarely drink coffee these days, and even then it’s only after an afternoon or evening meal. I’m certainly not used to it first thing in the morning. I don’t think I want to get used to it, either.
