About Me

Me playing my guitar

This is me. I live and work in London, UK. I sing, play guitar, go to see bands play, and mess around with computers.

I’m very interested in the ways in which the Internet is changing the way we work, communicate and play together, and I love finding cool new online services to play with.

I listen to a very wide variety of music. I hate pigeonholing music as I feel that it leads you to exclude from your listening all manner of stuff that you might like. Artists I particularly like include K’s Choice, Show of Hands, Emilie Simon, Black Sabbath, The Sundays, Eliza Carthy, Chumbawamba, All About Eve, the Sisters of Mercy, Budgie, Green Day and the Alan Parsons Project. I’ll also happily listen to jazz, classical or pretty much anything else. Good music is good music, regardless of genre.

I’ve worked in Accounts and Credit Control for Thomas Miller, United Dominions Trust, Hobart Manufacturing, Deith Leisure and HP Foods, and as a Web Developer for HP Foods, Phoenix London, PartyGaming, Strange Logic and Juno Records. In that time I’ve learnt a lot about dealing with clients, listening carefully to what they have to say and advising them on the best way to achieve their goals.

I’ve developed a particular penchant for writing browser extensions, initially for Firefox but more recently for Google Chrome. Most of these have been for my own personal use but you can find my Juno Download Search extension for Chrome here.

I’m currently looking for part-time freelance work as a Web Developer, particularly specialising in building custom Content Management Systems. If you’re interested in hiring me, please contact me to discuss your needs.
