The idiotic ramblings never stop.

Idle Bastard

I was going to go and see V for Vendetta today but I was out drinking last night and, quite frankly, I didn’t feel even remotely like going anywhere or doing anything, so instead I kicked around at home and watched Alien Resurrection on DVD.

And yes, I know it’s Mother’s Day. I was good - I phoned my mother earlier. Hell, I even phoned my brother, which is a very rare occurrence.

Time For A Small Rant

Some Christians who run B&Bs are objecting to a law that forces them to accept bookings from anyone. Well, tough fucking shit, people. Just because you’re a self-confessed bigot, that doesn’t give you the right to bring your intolerance into your business. If you don’t want people who are gay, unmarried or of another (or no) faith staying under your roof, don’t run a Bed and Breakfast. You’ll still be a nasty, small-minded idiot but at least you’ll sleep easy in your bed knowing that nobody is daring to be different from you in your home.

Stupid People

I knew that there are a lot of stupid people out there, but it’s frightening how many of them are teachers.

ID Cards Again

This ID project is even more sinister than we first thought. A really good but really quite frightening piece on the government’s ID card scheme. If you’re not yet convinced that this thing needs to be fought, and fought hard, read the article. Please.

This country is heading rather rapidly towards the kind of system that George Orwell foresaw and I suspect that once we get there only a violent revolution will free us from it. I, for one, would rather not have anybody having to die for the freedom of others. There’s been way too much of that needed in this world already.

HA Suing Disney

Hells Angels sue Disney over film. If this is true, it’s great. I loathe Disney and everything they stand for and, while I know that the HA have their bad points, my own experiences of them have been nothing but positive.

A Budding Houdini?

The BBC is reporting that a prisoner in a maximum security prison is being denied access to books on magic (Paul Daniels style, not Aleister Crowley) on the grounds that he might pick up some tips on escapology. It’s nice to know that the authorities have such confidence in their facilities, isn’t it?
