Superstition Wins
Chocolate Jesus exhibit cancelled. Can you say “Pandering to idiots”? If anyone finds a piece of art offensive, they should simply not go and see it and perhaps try to encourage others to do likewise. It’s ridiculous that a gallery should cancel an exhibit because they’re worried about a few superstitious morons. Right - short rant over. I feel much better now.
Wedding
I’ve just got home from attending a friend’s wedding in Tunbridge Wells yesterday. I had a great time, ate good food, drank plenty, met some nice people and stayed in a very comfortable hotel. The only very tiny fly in the ointment was the truly appalling shower at the hotel; it was one of those that can’t make up its mind whether to freeze or scald the poor occupant, so it did both alternately.
Still, I can’t complain. It made for a very pleasurable weekend and I have today off work. Not only that, but it’s sunny and warm out. Perhaps Spring has finally arrived!
BasKet Note Pads
I’m very impressed with BasKet Note Pads. I’ve been using it for a few days, both at home and at work, and it’s very useful and incredibly easy to get to grips with. Recommended.
MotoGP
Today is the first race in this year’s MotoGP championship. I shall, of course, be rooting for Valentino Rossi, a true racing genius, who will be out to regain the world championship he lost to Nicky Hayden last year. It’s real edge-of-the-seat stuff and I’d heartily recommend it if you haven’t seen it before. Way better than F1, where it’s relatively difficult to overtake.
And remember, folks, all real sports involve engines. If there’s a ball involved, it’s a game, not a sport.
Kinetica
Yesterday afternoon I went on a work outing to the Kinetica Museum of Kinetic Art in Spitalfields. It may be very small but it has plenty of great exhibits, mine and most of my colleagues’ favourite being a marvellous piece that combines a rotating structure with a strobe light to create the most marvellous three-dimensional animation. If you find yourself in the vicinity with a bit of time to spare, it’s well worth popping in.
